We will save up all donations made in cryptocurrency until better (or worse) times. If you see us using them, it means that something happened.

This network has rather high transaction fees. For small or test transfers, it's better to use Litecoin, Dogecoin or Bitcoin Cash.

Unfortunately, we cannot return cryptocurrency donations. So please be careful and cautious when making transfers.

Few popular cryptocurrencies can guarantee complete anonymity of transfers, but they are harder to trace. Most cryptocurrency exchanges through which cryptocurrency is bought and sold adhere to KYC/AML policies: this means that any cryptocurrency purchased from them will most likely be linked to your ID, phone number, card or bank account. Besides that, government agencies and tax regulators in many countries can ask banks about the origin of funds. We can't answer for every country, but we recommend to play it safe and assume that the tax regulator in your country is tracking your spending, knows where the money has gone, and is willing to share that information with other authorities. For fully anonymous donations, you can use Zcash (ZEC), which supports private/anonymous transactions, and Monero (XRM) cryptocurrency.

It depends on the country. In Russia, buying, storing, and donating cryptocurrency is not yet forbidden. If something changes, we will stop accepting donations in cryptocurrency.

We won't be able to make a tax deduction for donations made in cryptocurrency.

Don't buy cryptocurrency just to donate to OVD-Info. You can support us with a foreign bank card or through PayPal or a Russian bank card. This is also safe and still not illegal.
